Does dye darken or lighten?Updated 21 days ago

Our dyes change the color of the item it's used on, but the final color can mix with whatever color is already there. If you dye a white item red, it might turn pink because the red mixes with the white underneath. If you put blue dye over something that's already blue, it will become a darker shade of blue. It's important to remember that you can't make suede lighter with dye. You must use bleach or another whitening method to get a lighter color.

If you want a GREY with the leather dyes, you can use the NEUTRAL leather dye in JET BLACK to create a close color.

The NEUTRAL dye will reduce the color you are adding it to. In that case, you would add the JET BLACK TO the Neutral.
