Can your dye be mixed with alcohol or ethanol to dilute?Updated a month ago

Yes, our leather dyes, including low VOC and regular types, can be diluted with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol (IPA) without any problems. This method is helpful if you're looking to achieve a lighter shade or a thinner consistency for easier application on leather items.

However, it's important to exercise caution when it comes to suede dyes. Suede is a much more delicate material, and increasing the alcohol content in your dye mixture can damage or dehydrate the suede. The unique texture and softness of suede could be compromised, affecting the overall look and feel of the material.

For diluting suede dyes, we only recommend using a neutral suede dye. This product is specifically designed with a blend of water, alcohol, and glycerin. It allows you to lighten the color of the dye without harming the suede. The composition of the neutral dye ensures that while you achieve the desired dilution, you also maintain the integrity and condition of the suede, preventing damage or dehydration.
