When to Angelus Leather or Suede Dye vs Rit Dye?Updated 2 years ago

Angelus Leather and Suede dye are usually used for applying directly to leather and suedes. Generally on materials like canvas, denim, or anything permeable we advise against unless you are able to do a very thorough washing to get all the pigment out.

A lot of customers love to use our dyes in water or alcohol for dip dyes but our dye is extremely strong pigmented load wise so it can be very aggressive. Some people even use our dyes for applying directly to soles to stain the colors on.

Rit Dye tends to be a good option when you want to dip dye something completely all the same color tint. When utilizing with their instructions properly you will get a very nice even finish on everything. Great for items like jackets, bed sheets, pair of shoes, or even soaking a big piece of furniture. It can be more forgiving due to the pigment load not being as high and being a water based product that can evenly disperse in water easier. A lot of customers love it for the vintage look it can put on a shoe that is light in color with just a bottle or two.
