After your surface is properly prepped (see Prep section) we always recommend laying down 1-2 base coats of a standard color paint (not a neon, pearlescent, metallic, etc.) which is close to the color of Neon paint that you will be using. After your base coats with a standard paint color, apply thin coats of your Neon paint until you have reached solid coverage.

For example, if you want to use Bahama Blue, first apply 1-2 layers of standard Blue. After you have applied a base coat of Blue, apply Bahama Blue until you achieve full coverage. Doing this will ensure that your final color is solid, opaque, and pops as much as possible!
